Hello, and Welcome to Fuschia Grass. Today we have combat troops returning from Iraq, a "Ground Zero Mosque" seems to be the most threatening thing in the American imagination and I have a kid in college.
This is what's on my mind in Denver: The EatDenver Harvest Week, when local restaurants celebrate wonderful, locally grown and raised produce and meat. Oh, to be able to go to them all. As it stands, I've only experienced a few, my favorite being Vesta, a dimly lit, cozy place that combines meats and fire and spice in all the right combinations.
Speaking of food - where do your eggs come from? I recently had the opportunity to visit Grant Family Farms in Wellington, CO and was amazed at the care with which they raise all of their animals and crops. With the recent egg recall due to Salmonella contamination, people may be curious as to what the conditions of egg hens really are in the US. Cage-free or free-range? What's the difference? Apparently a lot.
Unfortunately, time is short, and I obviously didn't plan this very well, so I'll be back later with lots more to say.
